What is Your Style?
Today's brides recognise that the best way to capture the atmosphere of the day is with a “photo-journalism” (also called “reportage”) style. This style of photography is great fun and allows the photographer to take many hundreds of pictures during a full day without being an inconvenience to the proceedings. If a full day package is ordered, and especially if a story-book, reportage album is ordered, this will be my dominant style. Realistically, some elements of posed photography are required as well. You will be looking your best and you will have spent such a long time on the details that part of my job is to document these aspects by setting up appropriate lighting and backgrounds rather than just hoping that you will stand in the right place at the right time. These more formal photos need not take long and I take pride in the speed I work to ensure that the flow of the day is not disrupted.

How many weddings would Andy Craig Photography undertake in a day?
I undertake one wedding per day so the whole day is devoted to you. It doesn't matter if I am booked initially for only 4 hours, I will be available for the whole day should you change your mind closer to the time.

What equipment is used?
I use only Professional digital camera equipment. The digital cameras and lenses used are Canon and are capable of working under any lighting conditions from bright sunshine to candle light! I carry spares of everything as a safeguard.

If the wedding is some distance away, do you stay overnight locally and who pays for this?
Within the central belt of Scotland and NE England I can find local accommodation and all costs are borne by me. Further afield, we would have to discuss requirements.

How many photographs will we have to choose from when the album is being constructed?
You will have 150, 250 or more images to choose from, but this is very much dependent on how long I am there for and the number of locations used throughout the day. After your honeymoon, you come along to my Northumberland studio and relax while you view the photographs and decide on which ones you wish to have in your album. With my expertise and experience, I will be there to help you design your album. Any extra prints required above the package selected can be paid for individually. Alternatively you can simply sit in your own home and view the pictures on-line.

Are all photographs taken on digital and how much digital work is undertaken after the wedding?
All of the photographs will be taken on digital cameras. They are fantastic in low light conditions and allow a huge amount of creativity. No film changes are required meaning that no moments are missed. Also print quality is absolutely superb.
Much digital work is undertaken after the wedding - each image is assessed for tone and colour. Enhancements are made such as reducing skin blemishes, soft focussing, bringing out red roses in a black and white image etc.

When will we get our album?
From the time of viewing the photographs, it can take from 4-6 weeks depending on the package chosen and the number of photographs selected. This time is spent making sure that every image is perfect and sized correctly, printed perfectly and then meticulously put together when the album has been delivered to us. The album can then be either collected or delivered to you at a charge of £25.

How do our parents, relatives and friends select photographs for themselves?
Parents are welcome to come along to the viewing at our studio with you after the wedding. All of your photos can be put on my web-site in a private gallery if you wish. Friends and relatives will be able to purchase directly from my web-site. Alternatively I can supply a CD with your choice of images of the day and these can be viewed as thumbnails on your computer or on a DVD player.

How much do parents albums cost?
Parents albums cost from £150 and can be miniature versions of your own ArtBook. These albums are neat and trendy and come in the same range of covers as the ArtBooks. Also see DVD slide shows below.

DVD slide shows - can these be offered?
DVD slide shows can be ordered of all the finally selected images that are to make up your album. You can select the music of your choice to accompany it. The charge is from £75 for one off and £25 for any extra ordered at the same time.

Can we order framed photographs?
Yes. Any size of photograph or frame. Typically a 9 ” by 6 ” photograph in a 12 ” by 8 ” frame costs £65 .

How do we order reprints after we receive our album?
Your images will be on my website for 3 months after your wedding and reprints can be ordered and paid for on-line. I keep your records for years after your wedding, hence after 3 months all you have to do is ring me and place your order. If you lose your wedding album or if it gets damaged in a fire, you can simply reorder the whole album as we keep every detail.
